This summer, one of Belfast’s landmark bar and club spaces returns to the scene, with a new look and a new name.

The Marcus Ward & Foundry will open in Bankmore Square this August, a site formerly occupied by Stiff Kitten and Chicago Pizza Pie Factory.

Some of you will probably be wondering what the name means. Back in the 1800s the site which houses the bar and the movie house used to be a huge printing firm called, Marcus Ward & Co. They were world famous at the time having made their name by mass-producing greeting cards and calendars.

The new name for the bar and club is a nod to Belfast’s industrial heritage.

The new bar/club are on the look out for a general manager to lead, motivate and inspire their very own team.

The successful candidate will need to have previous experience and proven track record in a similar role, ability to ensure the team delivers stunning service standards, have an energetic interesting and personable nature with a hands on, can do anything attitude to push the business forward with innovative ideas, and keep a close eye on budgets and margins.

Let’s hope the new nightspot is half as good as its predecessor, The Stiff Kitten…
