This Latino Fusion restaurant boasts an authentic menu boasting tacos and delicious quesadillas, as well as terrific sharing platters, delicious nachos and two-for-one cocktails on selected nights.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with exclusive cocktail masterclasses also available, Loteria is always buzzing.
We love their outside seating complete with heating and umbrellas for anyone who fancies dining al fresco. And the fact that it’s completely dog friendly for anyone who wants to chill outside (complete with a bowl of water for your pup) is an added bonus!

Famed for its legendary coffees, hunger busting breakfasts and Sourdough sandwiches, you can’t beat the cosy cafe that is 5A.
Perfectly situated just minutes walking distance away from the Lagan Towpath, customers rave about the relaxed Melbourne style vibe that the amazing outside seating area offers.

3. The House

A terrific spot for any rumbling stomachs during the day with its mouth-watering menu, The House Bar is an equally fantastic spot at night. Its live sports nights are always buzzing with a great atmosphere, and it even holds live entertainment – including Open Mic nights.

4. Welcome Chinese

With its takeaway just a few seconds walk away, you can choose whether you want to eat the mouth-watering food of the Welcome in the comfort of your own home, or within the beautiful atmospheric restaurant with its attentive staff. Either way, we thoroughly recommend both.
5. Indie Spice

Highly renowned restaurant Indie Spice has been serving the finest Indian cuisine to the people of Belfast for nearly 20 years.
Arguably one of the best Indian restaurants in Belfast, Indie concentrates on delivering delicious food and maintaining the highest standards in food preparation and service.
Their budget-friendly meal deals are legendary, with a two-course-lunch only £5.95 served 12-2.30pm seven days a week.
6. Cafe Conor

Boasting epic scones and award winning breakfasts, the original studio of local artist William Conor (1944-1954), is now a well-established, fully licensed buzzy cafe, famed for turning out hip comfort food made from local ingredients – with delicious results.
The Small Plates are a great option for trying a variety of delicious tastes, or you can go all out with the delectable Artisan Choices. The budget-friendly Juniors Menu with scaled-back prices is also a huge bonus. The only problem you’ll have at Cafe Conor is an impossible deliberation over what to order with this top-notch menu.

With its prime location in the heart of Stranmillis, this is one of the most well-known cafes in Belfast and is particularly popular amongst students and young professionals due to its distinctive coffees, reasonable prices and excellent service.
It has the added benefit of glorious outside seating overlooking the beautiful leafy street that is Stranmillis, and offers great food and free wifi. The cosy sofas inside are also ideal for a real sit down chill with your caffeine hit.
8. Honest Pizza Company

With an emphasis on quality, Honest specialises in artisan baking, coffee and pizza and are passionate about making food from scratch.
Honest is proud to bring Northern Ireland the first genuine artisan sour-dough pizza, which reviewers positively rave about. In even better news, Honest promotes healthier takeaway choices. You’ll never find any additives, preservatives, enhancers or horrible e numbers in their dough, and source local, fresh ingredients and toppings.

Yum sources the very best local and free range produce to deliver freshly prepared and delicious meals cooked to order. With in emphasis on the belief that “There is perfection in simplicity” Yum provides a relaxed and comfortable dining experience.
It is also famed for its great value meal deals, particularly lunch which offers one course for £7.95 or two for just £8.95. It also provides a fantastic evening menu, ideal if you’re planning an evening at nearby Lyric Theatre.
10. Black Bear Cafe

Featuring generous portions, feel-good treats (see above), Suki Tea, great coffee and amazing food; Black Bear Cafe also plays host to fantastic Friday Supper Clubs.
Black Bear Cafe is becoming particularly well-known for providing well-labelled Vegan options. This hidden gem is definitely worth a try!
11. Cutters Wharf
One of our favourite things about Stranmillis is relaxing in the bar downstairs with its spectacular views over the Lagan Towpath and truly tasty gastro pub menu.

12. Indigo Coffee & Gelato

Featuring authentic coffee and home-made Gelato, one of Stranmillis’ newest additions is quickly (& deservedly) gaining a big following. The fantastic seating area has proved popular now that we’re finally coming into sunnier weather and offers the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the refreshing produce on offer. Whilst the quirky inside offers a cosy intimate setting in keeping with what works so well for cafes in this area.

If you fancy award winning kebabs, Sphinx on Stranmillis Road has landed the title of Best Northern Ireland Kebab House in the British Kebab Awards for the second year in a row.
And we’re not surprised. Most nights of the weeks when we pass by, Sphinx is queued out the door. Don’t let that deter you though. The friendly efficient service means you will never be kept waiting long. And they don’t ‘just’ do kebabs. If you don’t believe us, check out this mouth-watering burger…

Now you don’t have to travel all the way up the Upper Newtownards Rd for our favourite burrito bar, as fortunate Stranmillis dwellers have access to their very own Acapulco Burrito Bar takeaway in the Ashby Building!
Open for the busy lunchtime traffic, it’s situated downstairs in the canteen, where you can grab delicious takeaway Burritos, tacos, pots and more. Whose day just got better?
