Sam Hunter was looking for a new hobby that combined technology and travel. He bought himself a DSLR camera and the rest is history. Beautiful, captivating, picture-perfect history.

The 19-year-old’s collection of landscape photographs gathered over the past six months are simply stunning.

The Newtownards teenager, who is currently doing a computing degree at Jordanstown, explained how he got the (shutter)bug:  “I’m interested in technology and all that. I already have a few hobbies but was looking another and travelling and seeing new places has always been a love of mine along with technology so I thought why not get into photography as it combines technology and travelling.

“I started with my phone and was getting some okay shots so researched DSLRs and got myself a good entry level one and now I love it.

Sam also plays guitar in a band called Signature. He added: “Much like playing guitar, you will never be able to master photography, there is always something new to learn or a new way to take photos or a new place to go to.”
