Conor McGregor may have lost to Nate Diaz in his welterweight debut but fans of Irish Rugby reckon if he fancied a career change he’d make a great scrum half for the boys in green.

This was one of the more bizarre outcomes of a survey by Ulster Bank, the sponsors of club rugby in Ireland.

McGregor was voted third in the list of Irish sports personalities who could make the transition to rugby union with 43% of respondents saying his best position would be scrum half.
