The whole island of Ireland is represented in a major championship for the first time ever at this summer’s Euro 2016 alongside a Gareth Bale-powered Wales and an England team who are trying to end 50 years of hurt.

Belgium boast what might as well be a Premier League select and Cristiano Ronaldo promises to delight and infuriate in equal measure.

Hosts France are the favourites, but you can never rule out the Germans. Spain will be there or thereabouts and it’ll be fun to see how many dark horses fall at the first hurdle.

Here’s a few options to keep in mind if you’re heading out to watch any of the games…

If you want to be there without actually travelling to France this might be your best bet.

Titanic Belfast is hosting the official Euro Fanzone for a possible 10,000 fans in an open air arena. It’s FREE in with bars, food vans and even a fun fair. Follow this link for more info.

The Fly

Pick up a pint of Tennents and a Jager for a fiver during any home nations match- you might not remember the score but it’ll be some craic.

Promos during all home nation games include: Tennents £2.50; Tennents and a Jager £5; and Kopparberg £3.00!

3. Lavery’s

Belfast’s premier sports bar actually hosted the Euro 2016 Trophy along with former Liverpool player and current Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness a few months ago.

As always they will be covering all the home nation matches and you can collect beer tokens during the games.

4. The Hatfield

Hatfield Euros

Have a look at the new beer garden open just in time for the Euros. If that’s not a good enough reason to call in remember they have a 16 foot screen set up for three Euro Fanzone Days on the June 13, 18 and 22 coinciding with the Republic of Ireland’s matches.

5. The Bot

23-27 Malone Road – Facebook

The BOT are going all out for the Euros hosting their own 7-a-side tournament that might be just as prestigious as the real thing. Additionally, they will be showing all the Euro games on their huge HD screens.

The bar is certainly ready, covered in Euro colours with plenty of drink promotions at the ready!

Drinks promos will include: £3 pints of Tennents; £10 buckets of Budweiser and £3.50 snack buckets (chicken wings, loaded wedges or BBQ ribs)

6. Queens Student Union

University Road – Facebook

Students Union

The Students Union is always a great spot to watch the football and they are preparing for the big kick off with ‘a night of puns and punditry in the run up to Euro 2016.’

This will be hosted by the legend of Football Italia James Richardson and will be a perfect intro to the football to come over the month.

7. The Hudson

10-14 Gresham Street

Hudson Bar

Farah menswear clothing brand and award-winning independent pub experts Ben McFarland and Tom Sandhog, aka The Thinking Drinkers, named The Hudson Bar Belfast, as the best pub in Northern Ireland to watch the Euros this summer.

Their reasoning for the top billing included the fact that every televised match will be shown across eight big screens – as well as their strong post match whisky selection and legendary chicken wings – ‘the perfect half time snack’.
