It’s late and you’ve had (possibly more than a few) drinks in Belfast’s city centre.

Where should you go to feel that gaping hole in your stomach?

Here’s our guide to some of our favourite late night food options as close to Belfast centre as possible… Can you think of any more?

1. Little Italy

13 Amelia Street

Already listed as one of the top places in Belfast to go and get a pizza, in even better news, Little Italy is open until the wee hours of the morning.

With a delicious menu, this is definitely got to be the top place for a bite to eat after-hours!

Cost effective and authentic, try the fantastic Super Sicilian for a packed out beautifully thin pizza base complete with mouth-watering anchovies, peppers and pepperoni, and more.

2. The Sphinx

74 Stranmillis Road

Right in the heart of the thriving hub of shops and restaurants in Stranmillis, this is one of Belfast’s best kebab shops.

Always a good sign is the fact it’s always busy during the day, even amongst the bustling Stranmillis street filled with competing restaurants and takeaways. People flock here at night for some of most delicious kebabs or chippie alternatives on offer – as well as that special sauce.

3. Monte Carlo

147 Lisburn Road

This popular chippie is always busy after a night out, and offers just the right amount of delightful comfort food to soak up that alcohol after a few hours in the pub.

Pretty reasonably priced, it does good value meals for lunchtime and dinner too.

4. Indie Spice

159 Stranmillis Road

Open Mon-Sat until 11.30 pm (Sun – 11 pm), Indie Spice serves up delicious, authentic Indian food.

Whether you want to order yourself a takeaway from the extensive menu (complete with a very comprehensive guide of each level of spice beside each meal and vegetarian options) or sit in and soak up the pleasant atmosphere Indie has to offer, this is a fantastic restaurant with great opening hours and enthusiastic staff.

5. Wok-a-Moley

38 Bradbury Pl

wok a moley

Wok-A-Moley has gained a reputation for its traditional yet creative cuisine. And you can even choose your favourite from their extensive delivery menu to be at your door in just 45 minutes.

Most importantly though, for times when you are in dire need of a real foodie fix – they serve a buffet-style container (in medium or large) which you can fill to the brim with chicken curry, sweet chilli chicken, chips, noodles, and so much more for generous prices.

The customer service is commendably good too (especially at 4 am) – they always accommodate tipsy hungry customers by helping them cram their containers as fill-to-the-brim as possible!

Open from 7 pm – 4 am Sunday – Friday, and until 5 am on Saturdays.

6. McDonald’s

2 Donegall Place

Open 5 am – 5 pm you couldn’t leave out this popular haunt.

With its cheap meal deals and Pound Saver Menu, this Donegall Place franchise has turned into such an after-party scene that hundreds of people gather both inside and out every Saturday night.

A doorman is always on hand to make sure things don’t get (too) out-of-hand!

7. New Emerald Chinese Takeaway

55 Dublin Rd

When all else fails, the New Emerald is open late every single night of the week, making it understandably well-known among the young student population. But be warned, on busy nights always expect a queue out-the-door!

Set in a prime location – especially if you’ve just been to Filthy’s a few doors up, or The Bar With No Name just across the road.
