People are being encouraged to ‘Take 5’ as part of a strategy to build emotional resilience and improve mental wellbeing.

The five steps suggested by the Belfast Strategic Partnership that we can take every day are to:

• Connect
• Be active
• Learn
• Give
• Notice

The Belfast Strategic Partnership launched their ‘Building Emotional Resilience Strategy 2014-17’ today.

It will involve a six week consultation until June 26 with the aim of:

• Raising awareness and enhance individual emotional resilience and wellbeing
• Reducing life inequalities and develop emotional wellbeing at a community level
• Building on work already undertaken in the Belfast area that will contribute to emotional resilience

A leaflet aimed at improving our mental wellbeing was also launched today. This will help to support discussion around the consultation.
