Ahead of the release of the highly anticipated third album, Darling Arithmetic, quirky band Villagers have announced they will play Belfast.
Headed up by Conor O’Brien Darling Arithmetic is the third album from Villagers, released on April 13.
And according to Conor this album sounds much more intimate.
So much so it’s entirely written about love and relationships.
To keep the intimate feel Conor wrote, recorded, produced and mixed the album at home on the Northside of Dublin.
He said It encompasses the various shades of feeling – desire, obsession, lust, loneliness and confusion, and deeper into philosophical and existential territory, across a cast of lovers, friends, family and even strangers.
And just like its content the instrumentation will be an eclectic mix of everything from piano and Mellotron to brushes.
Villagers will play Belfast’s Mandela Hall on May 25. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster outlets and www.Ticketmaster.ie. Darling Arithmetic is out on April 13.
