Belfast has a wonderfully vibrant pool of acoustic talent.  From rock, jazz and blues to country, folk and Americana there’s hardly a music style that can’t be found on the open mic scene.

Every Monday
On a first come first served basis the Sunflower Open Mic night runs from 7pm but usually doesn’t kick off until after 8pm depending on the number of people who turn up.
The event is run by local musician Gavin Ferris who also plays most weeks along with some regulars.

Every Monday
Run by Owen you can register through the Filthy’s website, via email or by contacting them on Facebook. The great thing about this open mic is that not only can you pre-register but you can also just turn up on the night.

Every second and fourth Tuesday
Run by Michael and Sorcha all you have to do to take part in this open mic is message them on their Facebook page to sign up in advance. Starts usually around 9pm.

One of the longest established but also hardest open mics to play. Why? Because Lavery’s always has a great crowd and fantastic acts. It’s hard work but worth it in the end.
