I have to say I wasn’t expecting this show to be as good as it was.
For those that know me will know I’m a Patrick Kielty fan, always have been and probably always will be.
I was convinced that I was going to be disappointed. It turns out I definitely wasn’t.
Sometimes when we are fans of a performer we hold them up on a pedestal and literally wait for them to disappoint us. It’s crazy – but it’s true.
With Patrick’s show Patrick Kielty Knows Nothing And Needs Your Help it’s a unique insight into celebrity life and celebrity coupledom.
I don’t want to spoil it but if you’re in a couple be prepared to say “we do that too” a lot.
As always some of it is close to the bone – and why shouldn’t it be?
And the audience interaction is incredibly clever and spontaneously funny.
Patrick was supported by local comedian Micky Bartlett who I have to say was much much funnier than I expected him to be. I look forward to seeing him in a headline show soon.
See Patrick Kielty at the Grand Opera House, Belfast until April 11. For more information and to buy tickets log onto www.goh.co.uk.
