New York pop-punk band State Champs have just announced their much anticpated Irish return with a Belfast show at Bar Sub, QUB Students Union on September 15.

The band formed in 2010, basing their quick-paced and emotive sound on the influence of masters of the genre like Fall Out Boy, the Story So Far, and New Found Glory.

Based around singer Derek Discanio’s wailing vocals, the band was filled out by guitarists Tyler Szalkowski and Tony Diaz and bassist William Goodermote; they were eventually joined by drummer Evan Ambrosio.

Their album The Acoustic Things is available now on Pure Noise Records now.

State Champs will be supported by Knuckle Puck and Roam.

Tickets priced £14.50 excluding booking fee and go on sale today Friday (May 15) from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and online at Doors at 7pm.
