An army of Belfast Ed Sheeran fans are begging the singer-songwriter to bring his latest tour to the city.
After a sell out show in October last year fans like Lyra McKee (24) from Belfast are holding off for a Northern Ireland date after the star announced he will play Dublin on Friday July 24.
Rather than flock to buy tickets for Dublin’s Croke Park (which go on sale on Thursday February 26) Lyra said she’s taking the risk as she’s confident Belfast will be added to the ever-growing tour date list.
She said: “I’m holding off booking Dublin – I think he’ll book Belfast.
“I’d say a lot of fans from Northern Ireland are hanging on to see if he adds a Belfast date.
“It would be a real snub to Northern Irish fans if he didn’t especially after how he has been supported here.
Hayley (17) from Belfast agrees, she said: “He’s got a lot of fans from Belfast who are holding back from getting tickets because they can’t get to the concert in Croke Park.
“I honestly think he’ll book a date for Belfast because there is such a high demand.
“Look at his first concert date here, it was a sell out, it would be stupid not to book here.”
And Claire Taggart (20) from Larne said she’s worried that by holding off she might miss out altogether.
She added: “I wish he would come to Belfast, it’s such an inconvenience to go to Dublin but I’m scared that if he doesn’t release a Belfast date that I will be too late for the Dublin show.”
