Tickets go on sale this Friday for the eighth annual Belsonic festival at Custom House Square. Here’s the essential info on each of the 6 headliners announced to date and our favourite track from each of the artists.

1. Rudmental – Saturday August 15

BRIT award winning UK act Rudimental shot to mainstream success with their debut LP ‘Home’, which was released in 2013, and yielded five huge hit singles (including two UK number 1s).

Their meteoric rise to fame resulted in a rapid jump from club shows, to arena headline concerts, including a blistering sell out show at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena in early 2014. With an eagerly anticipated sophomore LP on the way, 2015 is set to be another landmark year for this groundbreaking group.

Rudimental will be supported by UK dance powerhouse Duke Dumont, whose recent singles ‘I Got You’ and ‘Need You 100%’ both reached number 1 in the UK singles chart, while 2014’s ‘Won’t Look Back’ was one of the year’s biggest club tracks.

2. Paloma Faith – Thursday August 20

Paloma Faith‘s rich vocal talent instantly caught the public’s attention with the release of her debut LP ‘Do you want the truth or something beautiful?’, drawing comparison to the great female singers of the Motown era, as well as contemporary artists like Amy Winehouse.

Faith’s third studio LP ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ came out in early 2014, and has been her biggest release to date. Singles ‘Can’t Rely On You’ and ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ are complimented by ‘Changing’, her UK Number One collaboration with drum & bass producer Sigma.

Paloma Faith is currently touring Arenas across the UK and Australia, including shows at London’s iconic O2 Arena, and a headline slot at Sydney’s Opera House.

3. Stereophonics – Friday August 21

One of the UK’s most successful bands of recent years, Stereophonics defined the sound of British guitar music from the late 90’s onwards. They have released 8 studio LPs, 1 double live album & a greatest hits collection, and have combined sales of over 9 million.

The band made a triumphant return with Graffiti on the Train in 2013, which became one of the bestselling LPs of the year, and was an ever-present fixture in the Top 20 in the first six months of its release. Their hotly anticipated new album is due to be released later this year.

Fronted by Kelly Jones and his distinctive, classic vocal, the band have come a long way since being signed back in 1996. After touring relentlessly to support their debut album release, they picked up a BRIT award for Best New Group in early 1998 and have never looked back.

Stereophonics will be supported by Irish quartet The Coronas, who recently sold out Dublin’s 3Arena, the band are on tour supporting ‘The Long Way’, their major label debut LP.

4. Above & Beyond – Saturday August 22

Even by their sky-high standards Above & Beyond are currently flying, well, above and beyond. On Saturday October 18, 2014 the trio made history by becoming the first British DJs to headline New York’s Madison Square Garden. As usual with the band, the numbers spoke for themselves: all 13,000 tickets sold in a snap; tickets changing hands on secondary markets for $700 a pop; within a week, half-a-million video views of a pair of delirious fans accorded the honour of pushing the button during ‘Blue Sky Action’.

It was the perfect curtain-raiser for the next stage of Above & Beyond’s dauntless, peerless, thrilling ascent. On January 19, 2015 Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki released their new album. It’s called ‘We Are All We Need’. Thereafter comes another single, ‘All Over The World’ – an appropriate title given that early 2015 also sees them embark on a global tour.

Above & Beyond will be supported by Fehrplay (Pryda) and Lane 8 (Anjunadeep).

5. Bastille – Tuesday August 25

The omens that Bastille would make an indelibly huge mark were there long before their March 2013 debut album Bad Blood entered the UK charts at Number 1. Signed by Virgin Records and tipped by a vociferous network of discerning bloggers, after 3 singles they were selling-out their first headline UK tour before their album was even released.

Infectious 4th single, the anthemic ‘Pompeii’, charted at Number 2. It went on to become the second most streamed track of 2013, just behind Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, and so far holds the record as the song to spend the most number of weeks at number one on the Official Streaming Chart.

Bastille were the biggest selling new British act of 2013, and have gone from strength to strength since, including a lightning fast sell out show at Belfast’s Ulster Hall, and shared the bill with The Killers at T Vital 2014.

Bastille will be supported by LA indie pop quartet Echosmith, who are best known for ‘Cool Kids’, their smash hit single from 2013 debut LP ‘Talking Dreams’. They will also be joined by LA trio Mini Mansions, which features Queens Of The Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman. Their recent single ‘Vertigo’ features a guest appearance from Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys.
