A new promotions company are using the idea of live crowdfunding to help support the arts in Northern Ireland.
The idea behind event management company 3for3 is that three bands or singers will play a venue and the audience will be charged £3 at the door. The money raised will go straight to the acts performing on the night.
Amy Joyce and Stef Campbell are behind the Belfast-based company who hope to change how live music works by helping the audience support the acts directly and transparently.
Their next night will be in the Bar With No Name in Belfast on September 5.
Stef explained: “3for3 music is proud to announce we are working with The Bar With No Name for our next 3for3 showcase night.
“We host a night of Live Crowdfunding with three acts on the stage for just £3 at the door. The money at the door goes straight to the acts on the stage, helping to fund artists and support the arts here in NI.
“We have open submissions for our showcase nights, and are inviting any musicians from any genre, style, experience, band size to apply for one of three spots. All acts are considered on their own merit, and three acts who will compliment each other are chosen for the showcase.”
To apply, email Stef or Amy at firstname.lastname@example.org with some details about your act and a link to at least one video/recording of your music.
This doesn’t need to be a professional recording – as long as they can get a good idea of your style, that’s all you need.
Applications will close at the end of June.
