Biffy Clyro have announced their live return to Belfast with a date at the SSE Arena on November 27.

The announcement comes just a month after Biffy’s triumphant appearance at Belsonic and 14 years after they played to a hardcore handful of fans in Auntie Annies in 2003.

In between they’ve been regular visitors to the city including a memorable night in Lavery’s in September 2013 when they played a special secret gig to mark Arthur’s Day.

Biffy Clyro follow 2013’s critically acclaimed UK #1 double-album Opposites with their seventh studio album Ellipsis which is available on on Warner Bros. Records / 14th Floor Recordings.

Citing influences as diverse as Tears For Fears’ Songs From The Big Chair album, DJ Arca and Deafheaven, Simon Neil has described Ellipsis as “more of a punch to the nose than a big cuddle.” Lyrically, the album’s songs tackle personal issues with the idea of “fighting back” a recurring theme.

Tickets (£31.50) go on sale this Friday (July 22) from all usual outlets including ssearenabelfast.com and ticketmaster.ie
