AN army of new generation fans flocked to buy tickets to see former The Smiths frontman Morrissey later this month at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.

The provocative singer, considered to be one of the founding fathers of indie music, has gathered a legion of new fans following his 2010 comeback and subsequent release of the album World Peace Is None Of Your Business last year.

And the outspoken singer has revealed he will be introducing melodic tribal Buffy Sainte Marie to his audience.

While Buffy has been around since the early 60s her haunting native American Indian pop is also gaining a new legion of socially aware fans.

Best known for her songs Now That the Buffalos Gone, Universal Soldier and Until It’s Time For You to Go.

Morrissey and Buffy Sainte Marie will play Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on Tuesday March 24. Tickets priced £44-49 are available from Ticketmaster.
