On Wednesday October 21 Belfast Film Festival will celebrate the magic of the Back to the Future series on the very day Marty and Doc went into the future.
It also happens to be the 30th anniversary of this classic so there’s two reasons to celebrate!
Hosted by Brian Henry Martin this event in the Grand Opera House will feature the original film and clips to celebrate this special day. He’ll be asking what did the second film get right about 2015? Flying Cars? Fax Machines?! Hoverboards?
Then the main event… The original film where Marty McFly is accidentally zapped back into the 1950s, Marty inadvertently interferes with the budding romance of his now-teenaged parents. Our hero must now reunite his parents-to-be, lest he cease to exist in the 1980s. It won’t be easy, especially with the loutish Biff, now also a teenager, complicating matters.
Given that the movie centres on time travel it should come as no surprise that some ‘experts’ in time travel who live on the internet have pointed out several plot mistakes in the film…
The event is held in partnership with The Belfast Film Festival and Grand Opera House and presented in association with the Belfast Photo Festival. It’s sponsored by Carson McDowell Solicitors
