Travel the world and experience a selection of inspirational, exhilarating and unforgettable adventures from the comfort of The Theatre At The Mill in Newtownabbey when the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour comes to town on May 27 and 28.
The festival showcases a diverse collection of the best and latest films from the global mountain sports community. The two and a half hour programme has been selected from over 370 films which were entered into the prestigious Banff Mountain Film Festival, held in the Canadian Rockies in November 2014.
This year’s Banff Tour will offer audiences an exhilarating adventure through the big screen as they paraglide through the Alps, mountain bike on the Isle of Skye, surf in the Arctic Circle, ski in Patagonia, kayak in Canada’s British Columbia and much much more – through 16 tour films.
The Tour is much more than a series of incredible film nights. It brings together people with a wide range of outdoor passions who return every year to enjoy the fantastic community feeling of a Banff screening and leave with new enthusiasm and inspiration for their own adventures.
This year’s tour features some of the UK’s most talented adventurers, athletes and filmmakers, such as the star of ‘The Ridge’ Danny MacAskill from Scotland, and Yorkshireman Rob Jarman in ‘All my own stunts’.
‘Into the empty quarter’ follows the amazing journey of British adventurers Alastair Humphreys and Leon McCarron, and the inspirational story of ‘Tashi and the monk’ is brought to the big screen by film makers Andrew Hinton and Johnny Burke.
