Sci-fi fans are readying themselves for a close encounter with the announcement that Belfast Film Festival are screening a Spielberg classic on top of Black Mountain.
A special screening of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind on top of Divis and the Black Mountain will take place on Friday August 7 at 9pm.
The film festival team will be taking a projector, a screen and an audience right to the top of the mountain – a location which overlooks the whole of Belfast.
Before the main feature they will have clips from movies made on the Belfast Mountains including Game of Thrones, Closing the Ring and Dracula.
Bring a torch, blankets, sleeping bags, hot water bottles and refreshments for your comfort.
Toilets and coffee are available but parking is limited so where possible travel together. The lower car park is free but involves a 15min walk while the upper car park will cost £2.
Belfast Film Festival has teamed up with Belfast Hills Partnership and the National Trust for the screening.
