We may be over half-way through the year but with another popular release season approaching, there is plenty of new music to look out for.
Here are six albums still to look out for this year…
1. Positive Songs For Negative People – Frank Turner
Reportedly recorded in a mere nine days, Frank Turner’s upcoming release promises the secret to picking yourself up when you’re down.
2. Anthem For Doomed Youth – The Libertines
It’s been over a decade but the Libertines are finally returning with a new album – talk about a build up. They’re said to be as bouncy as ever in their new release.
3. Light Up The Dark – Gabrielle Aplin
In contrast to her previous gentle LP, Gabrielle Aplin has taken a step into a more synth-based sound. The lead single, Light Up The Dark, is out now and demonstrates that despite the change in tone, her sophmore album will still demonstrate her striking vocals.
4. Mothers – Swim Deep
The band have described their new record to NME as “psychedelic sex music,” adopting a new style in an attempt to storm the charts.
5. Every Open Eye – Chvrches
Every Open Eyes discusses beginnings/ends and good/bad, with a few anti-love songs in the mix – this is one of the most exciting electronica releases of the year.
6. Volume – Skindred
Volume is the new album from Welsh ragga punk metal band Skindred and will be followed up by a full UK headline tour, giving listeners the chance to hear the new tracks live almost as soon as they get their hands on the album.
