In this day and age we don’t often get a chance to check out what’s on TV…well, at least when it’s actually on.

Here’s my top 4 picks of the coming week:

Gladiator

Director Ridley Scott collected five Oscars for this epic. The hero is Maximus (Russell Crowe), a general in the army of Emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris). Conniving heir to the throne Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) murders the Emperor in a fit of jealousy and orders his execution.

DRAMA

Empire
Tuesday 9pm E4
We’re expecting big things from this season finale, as Lucious gathers his children to announce who should run Empire – could the answer be ‘none of them’, as we’re not sure we’d trust any of them with the business just yet? Meanwhile, one-liner spouting Cookie has a plan of her own.
