With a second date being announced at Tennent’s Vital this week we’ve got 10 reasons why attendance is essential at this summer’s biggest festival in Belfast.
Vital takes place on Saturday August 29 and Sunday August 30 at Boucher Road Playing Fields.
Tickets for both nights are available at tennentsvital.com
1. Bank Holiday Weekend
No Monday Blues
Tennent’s Vital takes place on a Bank Holiday weekend so most of us will have the Monday off to recover after partying with Calvin Harris and The Script.
2. Calvin Harris
The Scottish DJ is music’s hottest property at the minute and his status just got even bigger with news of his relationship with Taylor Swift.
3. The Script
Hall of Famers
Selling out Vital should be no problem to Irish pop-balladeers The Script having packed Belfast’s Odyssey Arena for three night back in 2013.
4. Ellie Goulding
Anything Could Happen
Ellie’s haunting vocal style is set to be a favourite with the Vital crowd who will be looking forward to hearing her latest sounds as well as firm favourites.
Coming Up For Air
Dublin-based alternative rock quartet, Kodaline have continually hit the top of the charts since their emergence in 2007 as 21 Demands.
6. Clean Bandit
Grammy Award Winners
Best known for their hit Rather Be, English group Clean Bandit mix electronic music with classical music from Mozart and Shostakovich.
7. John Newman
Feel The Love
Best known for his hit singles Love Me Again and Not Giving In the young artist has sold over 1.5 million records in the UK alone since 2013.
8. Annie Mac
Of Radio 1 fame
Regular visitor to Belfast, Irish DJ Annie is best known as the eponymous host of her self-titled electronic dance music show on BBC Radio 1 every Friday night.
9. Food & Drink
You can be sure Tennent’s will be in plentiful supply at the festival while there will also be a selection of global cuisine for those who don’t believe eatin’s cheatin’.
Location, location, location
The location of the venue means people can get ‘warmed up’ for the shows in the city centre before getting the train or bus or even walking to Boucher Road.
