Starting a business is never easy, especially in the creative industries.
But, one designer and entrepreneur Linzi Rooney is bucking the trend and taking other artisans with her.
Linzi launched Studio Souk in Belfast this week – a creative retail and studio space based in Castle Lane.
Having first opened its doors in Spires Mall in the city Linzi has grown the business to move to a 2,000 sq ft shop filled with artists, designers, artisans and entrepreneurs.
Linzi said: “Plans that were once just a little seed in my creative brain have taken shape with more opportunities and possibilities than I ever could have imagined.
“All I wanted was to get a workplace up and running for like-minded people.”
A silversmith herself, known for her Elephant Juice jewellery brand, Linzi now has over 50 artists and designers across three city centre stores.
She added: “Studio Souk is the coming together of creative entrepreneurs in a stimulating, supportive and positive environment, in the heart of the city centre.
“Being inspired by one another, learning, growing and developing professionally together. We are forward thinking and proof that thinking outside the box doesn’t compromise quality or professionalism.
“We have an open plan creative retail, studio space and cafe where local artists and designers create and sell their products, giving our customers a unique interactive experience as soon as they walk through the door.”
