More people need to eat more seafood more often.
That’s the message being broadcast for Seafood Week and to back it up Mourne Seafood Bar in Belfast will be hosting a cook off to show off the quality of local seafood.
The Big College Seafood Cook-Off, which takes place on Monday October 12, will showcase the talents of local seafood chefs and catering students from across Northern Ireland.
The event, arranged by Seafish, will feature a wealth of famous culinary faces including Danny Miller (Great British Menu), Wayne Carville, Andy Rea (Mourne Seafood) Raymond McArdle (Great British Menu), Paula McIntyre (Radio Ulster) and many more.
Catering students from colleges across Northern Ireland will gather in Belfast, learn to prepare and cook fantastic local seafood from some well-known local chefs.
The Cook Off aims to inspire students to become the seafood chefs of the future and allow them to meet talented local chefs, seafood producers and many others all of whom have a passion for seafood.
Spearheaded by Seafish’s consumer platform, Fish is the Dish, Seafood Week 2015 aims to encourage people to buy, cook and taste seafood more often.
