2016 is set to be Northern Ireland’s Year of Food and Forestside is well ahead of the game with the launch of the first ever Forestside Festival of Food.

The 10 day event, from Friday to Sunday, November 6-15, will be jam-packed with superb local produce, talented chefs and an array of tasting and sampling opportunities with the centre’s own retailers.

Hosted by renowned local chef, Stephen Jeffers, the Festival will be a celebration of food from Forestside and beyond with daily demonstrations from the purpose-built mall kitchen.

Stephen will be joined by some of the province’s highly acclaimed chefs including Andy Rea (Mourne Seafood Bar), Jonny Phillips (Coppi, Il Pirata), Stephen Chisholm (BBC Radio Ulster, Belfast Cookery School and Great Irish Bake Off winner) to name a few.

As well as Forestside’s own food tenants, including M&S and Sainsbury, the cream of local producers will showcase the very best produce that Northern Ireland has to offer including award-winning artisan producers Shortcross Gin, Leggygowan Cheese and Abernethy Butter.

Lee Cutler, Forestside Centre Manager commented: “We’re thrilled to bring the first Forestside Food Festival to our customers – it promises to be a gastronomic celebration of all that Northern Ireland food producers and chefs have to offer including tasting, demonstrations, cookery tips and recipes for everyone to try.”
