Shaz Awards Hairdresser of the year James Wallace, explains how to achieve the look in seven easy steps…

For my first summer look, and bang-on-trend this season, are boho braids with loose curls, modeled here by CMPR model Destiny. I took inspiration from the summer catwalk shows by Vera Wang and Giorgio Armani, who were both heavily influenced by braids. This look is perfect for festival hair and can very easily be transcended from day time festival to casual party wear.

Step 1. Shampoo your hair with a shine enhancing shampoo and conditioner like the Orofludio Asia zen control.

Step 2. Part your hair into a middle shade and dispense a fiber flexible hold mousse like the style masters amplifier mousse throughout the hair and blow dry in inch wide sections with a large round brush concentrating on applying root volume

Step 3. Take inch long sections either side of your shade and French braid the hair forward and continue down the full length of the hair and fasten with a clear elastic.

Step 4 after you have finished the plats take long vertical sections spray with a heat protection like the Orofludio Sahara head resist and curl towards the face clipping up the curl as you go and allow them to set on this look I used a round barrel curling iron but u can use a wider wand or your straighteners.

Step 5. After the curls have set in clip them and brush through with a large Denman dressing out brush to create that softer wave.

Step 6. When the curls are dressed out take both plats and pull them out to give them a wider appearance and grip them to the back of your head just below the crown.

Step 7. Give your whole style a light mist of a flexible hold hair spray like the Orofludio mineral oil mist.
