When it comes to staying on top of the latest trends sometimes it can be more difficult for larger women.

With high street stores constantly changing the cut, shape and even size of their standard clothes it can be soul destroying to find either your size doesn’t exist or it just doesn’t fit.

Last year Australian brand Taking Shape opened in Belfast. With the sole aim to ensure larger women have an on-trend option on the high street the shop has already seen women from all over the country travel to Castle Court in the city to check out the clothing.

Marcia Jackson, manager of Taking Shape in Belfast said the biggest difference with the ethos of the company is the understanding that women come in all shapes and sizes.

She added: “We understand that women who wear the same size can have very different body shapes; which is why, our specialist designers only create clothes with curvy figures in mind. We want our customers wardrobes to be as individual as they are.

“We believe that Plus Size should never be an afterthought and deserves its very own, one-stop-store.
“We stock sizes 14 to 26, however many of our customers find that our designs enable them to drop a size or even two, because we don’t just design to size but, to shape, which is very important when you are curvy.
