This weekend the Merchant Hotel will bring back its Fashion Teas event.
On Saturday April 11 and Sunday April 12 the hotel will host four individual Fashion Teas showcasing new collections from a selection of Northern Ireland’s top boutiques and designers. They will include Excel Clothing, Art on Fashion & Harper at The Merchant, Gráinne Maher and Goddess & Swift and Ruedi Maguire.
Here’s our top 7 spring trends that will be on show:
1. Be Bold
The winter is over and colour is back in a big way for spring/summer 2015.
Bold colours will be everywhere this season. Expect to see bright yellows, reds, vibrant greens and blues everywhere this season, particularly from designer store Excel Clothing at the Fashion Teas who will showcase a fashion-forward show including designer labels including Armani, Hugo Boss, Ted Baker, Michael Kors and Pinko.
2. Prints Charming
From graphic and geometric to pretty florals and colour blocks, we’re going gaga for patterns and prints this spring/summer.
And one does prints quite like quirky homegrown fashion label, Art on Fashion, which takes the work of cool and edgy international artists and transforms it into stunning garments to create wearable pieces of art for your wardrobe.
Their latest collection is characterised by sophisticated elegance, featuring bold contemporary graphic artworks and nostalgic retro prints in a wide spectrum of colours.
3. Well Heeled
Joining forces with Art on Fashion are exclusive Northern Ireland stockists of Christian Louboutin, MIU MIU and Charlotte Olympia – Harper at The Merchant.
The store’s coveted red soled heels will be a key feature in their joint show with Art on Fashion, with a mix of classic shapes and colours and fashion forward styles ensuring fashion lovers are well heeled for spring summer.
4. Hat Trick
Gráinne Maher will showcase a range of striking new millinery pieces at The Merchant’s Fashion Teas, alongside her popular Pluck & Devour contemporary jewellery range.
A selection from her spring/summer 15 collection Bláthanna which debuted at London Fashion Week promises to be a real show-stopper.
The collection includes a range of statement Perspex millinery, jewellery and limited edition bags. GMM pieces are perfect for that upcoming summer wedding, or day at the races, whilst her quirky new trilbies offer everyday wearable millinery that’s sure to make you head of the fashion pack.
5. Classic Elegance
Alongside Grainne, Goddess & Swift will showcase a collection that will include its new Irish Siren range, populated with Irish Linen sculpted dresses, hand dyed umbre and hand-printed silks and Tailored Irish tweed, creating classic, enduring pieces.
6. Welcome To The Candy Shop
In contrast to the bright bold shades, muted colours and pastels are also big news this season.

7. Clean Up Your Act
Northern Ireland designer, Ruedi Maguire, who will provide an exclusive preview of his stunning new RUEDI autumn/winter 2015 collection at The Fashion Teas.
The collection takes its inspiration from deconstructed geometric patterns and texture, creating clean lines, lightness and layering with transparent and opaque fabrics. The silhouette is structured, waisted and playful using a soft layered approach.
Blouses & dresses are tailored with raglan sleeves, with cropped jackets and full, light skirts. The colour palette is dominated by greys, cream, black, chartreuse, canary yellow and silver with fabrics including the luxe textures of mohair, Venetian wool, silk organza, engineered net, faux fur, single crepe wool and Italian silk prints.
Tickets to The Merchant’s Fashion Teas cost £35 per person and include an exclusive fashion show of your choice, served with champagne afternoon tea.
