Have you ever considered the idea of mutual nightswapping?
Yes, I realise that sounds like the beginnings of a dodgy chat up line, but it couldn’t be more community spirited and better still, it could save you a fortune.
Based on a unique concept, NightSwapping allows home owners, tenants and roommates to stay for free at a local’s place for their holidays or simply on a weekend getaway, whatever the destination.
Here’s how it works…
Register with nightswapping.com and list your home or guestroom, even as a tenant, and travellers from all over the world will come knock at your door.
By allowing people to stay in your place for free you’ll gain nights – the currency which nightswappers trade in.
You’ll then be able to use those nights to stay for free at a local’s place and experience an authentic stay.
There are three ways to nightswap
1. Nightswap in a private room while the member is still there.
2. A mutual nightswap where you stay at their’s while they stay at yours.
3. Nightswap in an entire place while the member is away.
Since launching in 2012 Nightswapping has gained 50,000 members in 150 with 10,000 places listed.
The operation is based in France which I should probably have guessed.
