The much anticipated Belfast Bikes will launch on Monday throughout Belfast City Centre.
The scheme will see 30 docking stations located throughout Belfast in the hope of encouraging a new low-cost means of travel throughout the city.
All you have to do is pre-register HERE as a casual or annual user and the first 30 minutes of each trip are FREE.
Reporter Laura McMullan gave them a go and she’s saying “thumbs up” to the new scheme.
Laura added: “Cycling is not something I do regularly; in fact the closest I come to two-wheeled forms of transportation are the static bikes in my gym’s spin studio.
“But it’s something that’s been promoted as an excellent form of exercise and transport for a number of years now and, in many ways, I am the ultimate sceptical, car-reliant road user – too quick to bat away the notion of cycling around Belfast city centre.
“The simple joy of cycling and movement shouldn’t be underestimated; as you overtake pedestrians it seems like you’re virtually shaving vital minutes off your busy commute.
“It’s such a cliché but cycling gives you an instant buzz – the sense of freedom, and feel of the wind in your face. What’s not to love about the Belfast Bikes?”
