It’s bad when even Her Majesty can’t get you a ticket for the cup final.
Arsenal fan Charlie Pearce, having searched high and low without success for a ticket to see The Gunners play Aston Villa in this Saturday’s FA Cup Final, chanced his arm and wrote to The Queen asking if she could sort him out with a ticket.
Unbelievably, he received a response from Buckingham Palace, thanking him for his letter but letting him down gently.
Her Majesty’s Senior Correspondence Officer said: “I am afraid that this is not a matter with which Her Majesty would be able to assist you. I am sorry to send you a disappointing reply.”
But it seems there’s one rule for us common folk and one rule for the Royals. While Charlie didn’t get his ticket, Prince William, an Aston Villa fan, is not only going to be attending the game, but they’re letting him give the trophy to the winner!
