1. Coppi

Billed as a cichetti bacari/restaurant ‘of sorts’ Coppi is an Italian and Tapas bar with stunningly delicious food in Belfast’s city centre.

With a price point of around £10 – 15 for your typical main course, or £25 if you fancy pushing the boat out and enjoying their truly decadent Chargrilled Fillet Steak – complete with Potato Gratin, Garlic Grilled Mushrooms & Green Peppercorn Sauce.

The secret to the Chubby Cherub’s particularly fresh authentic, delicious pizzas lies in the fabulously fresh ingredients that adorn the pizza once it has come out of the Wood Stone Pizza Ovens.

The traditional dishes are also fantastic, particularly the likes of the Risotto, (Risotto, crab, chilli & chive) for £10.50.With its host of special offers for meals for two people, lunch deals and romantic Cupid’s Corner, this is a great Italian restaurant for an intimate special occasion.

There’s a reason this popular family-run pizzeria always has a queue out the door at peak times. Between the pizzas being made fresh in front of you, the gorgeous pasta dishes and the succulent Carne & Pesce menu – including the delectable Fillet of Salmon, filled With Sun Dried Tomato, Basil & Mascarpone, set over a Potato and Leek Rosti (£13.95), it’s always truly difficult to make a decision between all this tempting Italian food on offer.

4. Amici

This family run trattoria specialises in providing simple but flavoursome Italian food, bringing a truly continental feel to Belfast with their food, drink and surroundings.

Amici’s wines offer the perfect accompaniment to the Italian inspired menu, which includes old favourites as well as new tastes.

The lunch time specials offer particular great value for money, and they offer some fantastic evening deals as well. We’re all about the Spaghetti al frutti di mare with prawns, cockles and mussels in olive oil, garlic, lemon juice and parsley for £9.95.

Close relative of Villa Italia, Scalini is an Italian family run pizzeria restaurant in the heart of South Belfast specialising in mouth-watering pizzas, pasta dishes, Pollo, Carne e Pesce and great side-dishes (Contorni).

What undoubtedly sets Little Wing apart is the budget-busting slices available from a 24 inch pizza. The ‘Slice and a Salad’ makes for the perfect lunchtime treat for just £4.75 or grab four slices for £10. Dinner options include a vast collection of the most gorgeous flavour combinations delivered in the form of regular, skinny, 24 inch and the show stopping calzones.

Rave online reviews exclaim that this delightfully cosy pizzeria is home to the ‘perfect pizza in the city’ and the most ‘fabulous pizza in the warmest, friendliest little restaurant in the world’.

The divine pizza is tremendous value for money, and is also BYOB. The El Prawn Classico offers prawns, green finger chillies, garlic & fresh coriander – and is basically a little taste of heaven for just £7.40 for nine inch or £9.40 for 12. The take away deals are ideal for a great night in – especially if you’re on a students budget but have developed a taste for the finer things…

Embrace tantalisingly flavoursome dishes like the Rainbow Trout, Spiced Crab Arancini, Braised Chard, Lemon & Tomato Butte at this local Italian, highly praised for its menu.

Good food with authentic tastes served on quirky plates which sets off the décor and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Nice choices of daily specials which complement an already adventurous main menu and good selection of wines and cocktails too.

8. Fratelli

Fratelli is one of Belfast’s newest Italian Restaurant & Bars oozing rustic Italian charm with a contemporary edge.

We love the Cicchetti (pronounced chi-KET-tee) which are small snacks and appetisers, similar to tapas, typically served in Italian taverns. As well as the more traditional Carne e Pesce, Pizza Classico, and Bruschetta options.

9. Speranza

Speranza is one of the most renowned Italian restaurants in Belfast offering great food, great service in warm, comfortable surroundings that has seen it blossom from year to year.

With a focus on fresh, local produce, Speranza has always been about the food and with a wide variety of dishes on offer, you can really experience Italian food, at its best.

Featuring excellent Italian food, great service and BYOB. The lunch time salads are particularly recommended, whilst the wide variety of pizzas (including a create your own section) and pastas offer authentic food for great value. Try the Polpette al Pomodoro starter – the Italian meat balls, pomodoro sauce, mozeralla, ciabatta bread offer an incredible start to your meal!

The Bruschetta con Pomodori (pictured) is also highly recommended…

11. Goodfellas

Asides from the to-die-for diced garlic potatoes (which we admit might not be totally Italian), Goodfellas is famous for its divine pizzas, great for sharing, and great comforting food gauranteed to fill you up and leave a smile on your face. All in comfortable surroundings, and with BYOB this is a great restaurant to go to share.

No list of Belfast Italians would be complete without mentioning the cult that has become Little Italy pizzas. Renowned for their hangover busting cures if acquired immediately following a hard nights drinking.

Dinadina is becoming one of the favoured lunctime haunts in the city centre thanks to its authentic Italian food, cooked freshly each day and delivered in super fast time. Their must-have menu item is the Piandina, a Northern Italian flatbread filled with a host of local delicacies including delicious hand made Italian sausage.
