A free holiday home in Ibiza has been launched by Superdrug, tempting sun-seekers everywhere.
All guests have to do (other than be at least 21) is put up with the decor – doesn’t sound like a very big catch.
Wait for it – the holiday home is covered floor to ceiling in sexual health warnings and images as the company encourage safe sex abroad.
Superdrug are calling the apartment the first ‘Sexual Health Condom-inium’ as they aim to promote safe sex abroad. Guests can stay for no charge but will have to lay their head on pillows covered in images of the herpes virus and be subjected to reminders to practice safe sex at every turn.
This is all thanks to new research showing that one in 12 18-35 year olds have returned with more than holiday gifts for the family – an STI for themselves!
An astonishing 35% of people confessed to having unprotected sex whilst on holiday leading to a quarter of those contracting an STI. Those making the trip to Ibiza will not be able to forget these facts as they get intimate in bed under bright covers that scream statistics.
Head of Wellbeing at Superdrug, Melanie Wilson, said: “Educating people about the risks of catching sexually transmitted diseases while away is very important as the research reveals that 21% of 18 – 35 year olds are more likely to have unprotected sex on holiday than at home. The sexual health bedding draws attention to the risks and the facts in an original way, as well as promoting the safe sex message.”
When booking a free stay in the apartment, Superdrug also through in a safe sex intimacy kit including condoms and an STI home testing kit.
And when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Superdrug will be offering promotions on condoms in store and online and £5 discount on STI test kits via onlinedoctor.superdrug.com.
