You can’t beat a Sunday Carvery when you fancy a delicious, filling meal – especially when you can help yourself.

Whether it’s a family trip or romantic dinner for two, we’ve tried and tested some seriously mouth-watering Carveries.

1. Stormont Hotel

The Sunday Buffet Lunch at the picturesque, newly refurbished Stormont Hotel is one seriously not to be missed.

Having enjoyed Sunday buffets across Northern Ireland, we found the Stormont Hotel to be in a different league – with its outstanding selection of mouth-watering food, terrific service, and outstanding choice.

Coeliac sufferers will be delighted that everything Gluten Free is labelled – and that’s a majority of the menu. Whilst the dessert section an entire table filled with delicious Gluten and Dairy free alternatives – as well as a chocolate fountain.

Highlights consisted of delicious soup with extras from freshly baked bread to bacon and crotons. Whilst the Pasta Station we saw allowed you to request your favourite ingredients to be cooked right in front of you.

Amazingly this special station changes every week – it could be anything from pasta to crepes, to omelettes.

The second course consists of everything from fresh smoked salmon, to marinated oysters, tuna and avocado, prawn salad and delicious chicken dishes.

Whilst the Sunday Roast station offers everything from beef, lamb, chicken, ham and all the trimmings from Yorkshire Pudding to mash potatoes, roasties, fresh veg and gravy with a host of sauces you can add yourself.

Running every Sunday, adults pay £27 per person, whilst children aged 6-12 cost £12 each, whilst kids under the age of 6 eat free. Alternatively, the Family Deal consists of two adults; and two kids under 12 for only £75.

2. Ballygally Castle Hotel

We’ve been back – several times- to the delicious buffet at Ballygally Castle. And after you’ve tried it once, you’ll be hooked too!

The Sunday buffet at Ballygally is genuinely fit for a King, with its bountiful array of gastronomic delights made from the finest locally sourced produce in Northern Ireland.

Our favourites include the delicious hearty soups – ideal if you’ve spent the day getting wind-swept on the beach right outside. There’s also fresh smoked salmon, prawn cocktail, salads, and an array of hot appetizers.

But make sure to save room for the gorgeous carvery – where you can choose from succulent joints of Beef, Turkey, Ham and Lamb with all the trimmings. Including creamy mash, roast potatoes, golden Yorkshire Puddings, gravy, veg and more!

Next you can enjoy the seriously tempting decedent desserts which range from rich chocolate cakes to light pastries and custard. All washed down with tea and coffee.

The buffet is £27 per adult and £15 per child and is served from 12.30pm-2.30pm.

3. Ramada Plaza

You can enjoy a delicious 5 Course Sunday Carvery at Ramada Plaza Belfast in the vibrant atmosphere of The Green Room Restaurant – the perfect way to catch up with family and friends whilst enjoying a selection of Starters, Soups, Carved Meats, Speciality Desserts, Cheese, freshly brewed tea or coffee and an extensive wine list!

To finish off a delightful afternoon, take a stroll around the picturesque Lagan Valley Regional Park or relax in the beautiful surroundings of the Ramada Plaza Belfast.

The price for adults is £19.95; whist children aged between 6-12 years are £11.95. Meanwhile, kids that are 3-5 years are £5.95; and children 2 and under eat free.

4. Dunadry Hotel

Set within the stunning surroundings of the Dunadry Hotel, the Sunday Carvery is available every Sunday from 12.30-3pm.

It includes scrumptious options for Starters, a mouth-watering Main Course, and Dessert followed by Tea or Coffee.

Adults pay £19.50; whilst children under 12 cost £9.75; and children under 5 eat free.

5. La Mon Hotel & Country Club

Sunday Lunch is the best meal of the week and at La Mon they certainly know how to make it a very special occasion.

You can enjoy La Mon’s gourmet five course Sunday carvery, which includes a large selection of appetizers, soup of the day, freshly baked breads, salads & savoury starters.

For main course choose from a range of succulent locally sourced roast meats or fish of the day. Sunday roast is complete with all the trimmings including homemade Yorkshire puddings, sage & onion stuffing, roast potatoes, creamy mash and selection of seasonal vegetables. Finish your Sunday feast with a grand selection of Home-made desserts created by La Mon’s Pâtisserie with tea & coffee.

Gourmet Carvery Sittings take place at various sittings throughout the day, including; 12.45pm, 1.45pm, 3.45pm, and 4.45pm. It is priced a £23.95 per adult or OAP is £21. Meanwhile children under 12 years old are £12, with under three’s complimentary.
