are looking for the next big thing in fashion and beauty.

Teaming up with Northern Ireland’s leading fashion lights Una Rodden, Grainne Maher and Pamela Smyth of The Makeup Dept – these formidable forces are seeking new faces with model potential to take part in beauty photoshoots and art-style fashion installations.Kelly-McAllister-31-620x377Shortlisted models will take part in a photoshoot at The Makeup Dept in Belfast to test their skills in front of the camera and will get the chance to walk in a fashion show featuring Una Rodden and designers from Grainne Maher: Vault Boutique.

One overall winner will receive the title of Face of 2016, a couture gown worth £500 by Una Rodden and a selection of jewellery by Grainne Maher.

Judges will include Makeup Designer Pamela Smyth of The Makeup Dept: “I’m hoping to find some really unique beauty faces. Symmetry is important – but something a bit quirky is always fun to work on. Great bone structure and confidence is more important than flawless skin – we can create that!”

Una Rodden’s fashion shows have become renowned for creativity with fashion film presentations and art installation style shows to showcase her stunning fashion creations. Grainne Maher’s new boutique in Belfast’s Spires Mall stocks a range of luxurious independent designers from throughout Ireland and the UK so the clothes for these new models to work with will be a fashion lovers delight.

The Fashion & Photographic course students at The Makeup Dept will test their skills creating photographic looks on the girls for their test shoot with Sugahfix’s fashion photographer Kelly McAllister: “This whole experience will be hugely creative and an amazing opportunity for potential models to test their skill in front of the professionals who will hopefully be booking them for years to come,” Katrina Doran,

makeup artist Pamela Smyth of The Makeup Dept makeup school in Belfast

Many girls have model looks and love to do highly creative photoshoots and shows but don’t necessarily want to be signed up to a model agency. They may be at school, Uni or work full time but enjoy dipping their toe in the fashion waters at the weekends.”

“Face of 2016 is ideal, as it doesn’t tie the winner into a contract. It’s also an amazing springboard for girls who want to approach the big model agencies and want experience and some really fabulous photos for their book. Either way – if you love fashion and you’d like to try modelling – this competition is a perfect platform.”
