Early 2000’s classic crime drama Prison Break is returning for a ten episode revival – wahey!
The show was added to the extensive collection of brilliant TV on Netflix, allowing those who were too young when the show originally aired to enjoy the twists and turns of Prison Break’s plot and (of course) the gorgeous face of Michael Scofield.
Prison Break’s first season began with Michael (played by Wentworth Miller) robbing a bank in order to be locked away with his brother who is waiting for the electric chair. Why? Because his brother was innocent.
Michael pledges to help his brother escape and spends the first season befriending sneaky inmates and plotting the escape.
Fox CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman gave out some minor details about the revival.
Dana said : “I would describe it as a bit of a sequel, it picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience.”
Gary added: “What [was] pitched to us was a very logical and believable explanation in the world of Prison Break for why are character’s alive and still moving around the world.”
He’s talking about the fact that Michael Scofield is dead, or at least we thought he was at the end of The Final Break. Final being the key word.
So can the shows writers bring back Michael in a way that isn’t entirely awful? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
The first episode is being written at the moment and with any lucky we will be watching the revival next year!
