It’s been another strange and startling week in the crazy world of celeb-ville. Between comedy gold, major health scares and things to get us majorly excited, here’s our take on the showbiz round-up…
1. Rihanna has opened up about her feelings for ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, saying she felt like his “guardian angel”…
The Diamonds singer remained protective over the rapper, even after he was arrested for assaulting her in 2009. She later reunited with Brown for a second time and asked a court to lift the restraining order against him.
“I was that girl, that girl who felt that as much pain as this relationship is, maybe some people are built stronger than others. Maybe I’m one of those people built to handle s**t like this,” she told Vanity Fair.
“Maybe I’m the person who’s almost the guardian angel to this person, to be there when they’re not strong enough, when they’re not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing.”
She continued: “I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn’t understand him. But you know, you realise after a while that in that situation you’re the enemy.”
Rihanna, who graced the front cover of the magazine’s November edition, added: “I don’t hate him. I will care about him until the day I die. We’re not friends, but it’s not like we’re enemies. We don’t have much of a relationship now.” We think that’s probably for the best Rihanna…
2. James Corden was joined by Julianne Moore and John Stamos as they acted out Taylor Swift’s song lyrics…
This made our life. James Corden is continuing to prove why he is one of most beloved comedians…
With Swift’s songs frequently telling emotional tales of love and heartbreak, the trio decided to turn her words into a break-up scene for a fictional soap, titled The Bold And The Lyrical, on the latest episode of Corden’s The Late Late Show.
Only speaking in words from Tay-Tay’s songs, including Shake It Off, Bad Blood, Blank Space and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, the scene starts with Moore – as Juliette Moore – asking Corden’s leather jacket-wearing character James Cordone where he had been.
At one point, Moore quotes Someone Like You, before the host pulls her up on the mistake, saying: “I think that’s Adele. Good song though!” Comedy gold.
3. Will Smith has revealed he will be hitting the road with his long-time music mate DJ Jazzy Jeff in 2016
In the best news we have heard in a very long time, our favourite Summertime collaborators are set to embark on their first world tour together, which comes nearly 30 years after DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince released their debut album, Rock The House, in 1987, and the Independence Day star admitted he is “terrified” by the prospect.
“I’m pretty certain I’m going on tour,” Smith told Apple’s Beats 1 presenter Zane Lowe.
“Jeff and I actually never have done a full tour. I was always on the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, I was always either making a movie, so we’ve never actually done a full tour. So I’m looking for this summer to be the first time that we go out on a full world tour.”
Smith is making a return to music after a decade away, having dropped a remix of Bomba Estereo’s Fiesta on October 2. We cannot wait.
4. Ellie Goulding has revealed she suffers from a secret heart problem – and has been putting herself at risk by ignoring it.
The Anything Could Happen singer explained she noticed the problem over a year ago, but chose to continue performing around the world.
“I found out I have this heart thing and I need to get it checked out,” she told Australia’s Perth Now.
“I’m fine – it’s actually something someone discovered last year but I never got it checked out. Which is terrible, I have been playing with my life.”
We’re pleased to see the goegeous 28-year-old singer, who became a vegetarian two years ago and is a fitness fanatic, has since scaled back her approach to dieting and exercising. It just goes to show too, that if you have a nagging pain or can tell something just isn’t right, you should always get it checked out. As soon as possible. Because our health is one thing we shouldn’t take a gamble on.
