Olly Murs has admitted he is starting to feel the nerves about replacing Dermot O’Leary on The X Factor.
Singer Olly and his old Xtra Factor pal Caroline Flack were recently announced as the new hosts of the main talent show after Dermot announced his exit, but they are well aware that they have big shoes to fill.
Olly told Free Radio: “I think nerves have definitely kicked in a little bit, I’m like wow, it’s gonna be quite an amazing thing to do.
“It’s going to be really tough for me and Caroline, replacing someone like Dermot.”
He added that they would be taking inspiration from TV’s favourite presenting duo, Ant & Dec.
He said: “When we did the Xtra Factor, the show had never had a twosome do it before. It’s the first time The X Factor main show’s had that. So we’re looking to bring something fresh, something different. Of course Ant and Dec are the pinnacles of that, and do it so well.
“So we just want to be ourselves and have a lot of fun, and I think it’s going to be really great. I think X Factor and Simon Cowell wanted to revamp the show, and do some new changes, and obviously we’re delighted to be a part of it.”
