The Duff star Bella Thorne has insisted there is nothing romantic about screen kisses.
Shailene Woodley picked up the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss for her performance with Ansel Elgort in The Fault in Our Stars last night, but earlier on the red carpet, some stars admitted the reality of screen kisses was not so idyllic.
Bella said: “It’s very weird. People think that you’re going to fall in love with the person you work with – I don’t see how that happens. It’s just awkward.
“My first on-screen kiss, me and Dylan Minnette hit noses on the set of Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. And we hit teeth. We were bad!”
Halston Sage, who was nominated along with Rose Byrne for their kiss in Bad Neighbours, agreed it was a weird feeling.
She said: “It was my first or second day on set and it was, ‘Hi, nice to meet you, I’m Halston, let’s make out.’ It happened very quickly!
“That’s the weird part of this business, but also it’s fun and exciting.”
