Some of the strongest men from around the world will be flexing their muscles and steeling their stamina when they compete in the Rudridge Ultimate Strongman Giant Weekend taking place in Belfast from Thursday to Sunday, August 27 – 30.

The action packed weekend will see an array of ample athletes contending for the crowns of UK Strongest Man, Master World’s Strongest Man and Junior UK Strongest Man when they go head to head in a test of power and endurance.

It looks set to be an adrenaline and fun-packed weekend, with the beefed up battle kicking off with the search for the UK’s Strongest Man on Thursday August 27, when the heats take place at City Hall, Belfast.


This will be followed by the semi-finals at the amazing Titanic Museum on Friday, with the winner being announced and lifting the coveted X11 CNP Trophy at Crumlin Road Gaol at the Boulder Imagefinals on Saturday August 28.

Hot on the hefty heels of the announcement of the UK Strongest Man title, will be the competition for Master World’s Strongest Man at Crumlin Road Gaol on Sunday August 30. The weekend will finish on Monday August 31 with the fight for the title of Junior UK Strongest Man at the Titanic Museum.

Competitors will take part in an exciting display of tough tasks designed to showcase their strongman credentials. These will include the boulder busting ‘Caveman Lift’, tiring ‘Tyre Flip’ and back breaking ‘Truck Push’.

Five time European Strongest Man title holder and creator of the Rudridge Ultimate Strongman Giant Weekend, Glenn Ross, will be hosting throughout. The larger than life star, better known by his nickname ‘The Daddy’, commented, “The Rudridge Ultimate Strongman Giant Weekend has become a mainstay on the competitive circuit and this year will be tougher than ever for our athletes with some extremely challenging tasks. I am looking forward to watching the weekend unfold and seeing if any new records are set.”

Events taking place on Thursday, Friday and Monday will be free to attend.

Tickets are available to purchase in advance for the finals of the UK Strongest Man on Saturday August 29 and the Master World’s Strongest Man on Sunday August 30 at and cost £8 each.

Children under 12 are free of charge. Tickets will be available to purchase on the day of the paid for events for £10 per person. All events start at 1pm.
