Chefs at The Merchant Hotel’s Great Room Restaurant have handcrafted a magnificent Easter Egg, which will be the envy of chocoholics across Belfast and beyond this weekend.

Weighing in at over 10kg, the beautiful egg is made of the highest quality Valrhona Jivara chocolate and decorated with intricate flowers made from icing and sugar fondant and took chefs Sarah Jade Jamison and Peter Norris 54 hours to create.

The beautiful egg will be on display in The Merchant’s Great Room Restaurant until Easter Tuesday before it makes its way to the Northern Ireland’s Children’s Hospice as a special Easter delivery for families and staff.
