Little Wing have just created the holy grail of dessert… the Crème Egg Stromboli.
Designed as an Easter Treat to add to their already extensive dessert menu, the Crème Egg Stromboli was inspired by the hugely successful Nutella Pizzas.
We got in touch with the pizza-makers themselves to find out more about their inspiration…
“As our Nutella Pizzas are hugely successful, and the most popular dessert choices at Little Wing, it made sense to give them a twist – quite literally! – using a good old Easter favourite, the Crème Egg!
“Despite originating in 1950s New York, the second home of pizza, the name ‘stromboli’ brings the dish back to its Italian roots.
“Stromboli is an island just off Italy, which contains one of the three active volcanoes in the country, which is how the Stromboli got its name – as you cut them open, the filling literally erupts out of it!
“A Stromboli is usually made with savoury fillings such as cheese and cured meats, but if we can make the Nutella Pizza a success, there’s no reason why we can’t expand our range of sweet treats.
“Our Stromboli is available in store for £3.50 and is served with fresh whipped cream. Alternatively, enjoy your dessert with ice cream for a £1 extra charge.”
