We rely on Twitter for everything from being the first to get breaking news to discovering local and global trends, from keeping up to date with events to getting a laugh from our fave celebs.

Over time feeds can become a bit yawn and need a little revitalisation to keep things interesting. Every Friday, which we have now re-christened #FollowFriday, we will suggest our top three Twitter accounts to pump up your feed and put some pow back into your Twitter experience.

Nathaniel McCauley

@njmcauley

‘Fancy man’ and ‘poet’ and now Northern Ireland’s Bar Person of the Year, most of you will recognise Nathaniel McCauley from Muriel’s Café Bar. Nathaniel was announced as Best Bar Person at the 2015 Pub of the Year Awards on Wednesday night, an award decided by the public.

Belfast is blessed with talented bar people but it’s no surprise that Nathaniel was the one to scoop this prestigious award with his irreplaceable knowledge and creative ideas. Watch this space for more big news from the Nathaniel…

Contained

@contained13

Brought to you by the same collective that bring you T13 in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, Contained is a new and exciting pop up space in the city. Situated on the banks of the River Lagan, Contained makes fantastic use of a previously idle space and invites everyone to be part of a shared culture and experience.

The team at Contained have transformed the area into a go to place for all to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy an incubator of creative ideas, holistic therapies, music, art and film. From 10am on Saturday, the Magnus Viking will be on hand to detail Viking life in Ireland. Follow Contained to hear about their next great idea or event.

Barra Best

@barrabest

November has been a rollercoaster of unpredictable highs and lows where the weather is concerned. When you wear your woolliest, warmest jumper, the sun is bound to glare down fro hours but when you take a chance and leave that jumper at home, it pours from the heavens leaving you looking like a wet fish all day.

Our only advice is to check out the sound advice of our man Barra on the regular. He won’t guide you wrong this winter!
