Belfastvibe attended the opening of Vandal last weekend – and were treated to some serious Drink Porn – literally.
With a cocktail menu so seriously delicious it borders on dangerous, there could truly be no name better fitting.
Vandal definitely specialises in serving up drinks with a difference – think delicious cocktail meets milkshake and you’re halfway there.
The Strawberry & Marshmallow Boozy Shake Cocktail was epic
Just to give you an idea, the Marshmallow and Strawberry Boozy Shake cocktail features Absolute Vodka, Marshmallows, Strawberry Liqueur, Monin Strawberry Syrup, Strawberry Ice-Cream, Milk and it’s sprinkled with 100’s and 1000’s.
The Orange Creamsicle tastes just like a refreshing Joker Ice Lolly!
You can also choose from the likes of a Bounty, Pump Up The Jam, Screwball or Prosecco Fizz – to name just a few.
The Grasshopper and Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble also proved a huge hit if you fancy something slightly more traditional.
In even better news, you can enjoy some serious Food Porn too. Choose from the incredibly moreish pizza subs or individual pizzas with sides and dips to be washed down with Freak Jar Desserts.
We’ve definitely never experienced a bar & grill in Belfast quite like this before. In fact, despite opening upstairs at White’s Tavern, one of Belfast’s oldest pubs, Vandal has created a casual venue in the Cathedral Quarter which has attracted a wonderfully diverse crowd.
Chocolate Brownie & Mint Aero FREAK JARS
Vandal is definitely the best spot in Belfast for bar flies and disco dwellers looking for some eighties and nineties nostalgia and retro beats.
They even enlisted the help of Dean Kane who goes by the street (artist) name of Visual Waste to breathe fresh life into the bar.
In fact, we got a sneak peak inside the new venue and chatted to the man behind the stunning artwork ahead of the official opening last week – check out the stunning results here.
Dean explained to us: “The remit was that Vandal will be somewhere that’s very casual, there’s a lot of very clean cut places round here in the Cathedral Quarter.
“It’s going to be a retro alternative disco, aimed at people in their mid to late twenties and early thirties who want to kick back and listen to beats.”
Included on the walls of Vandal are Michael Douglas in Falling Down, John Candy in Uncle Buck and Bill Murray in Ghostbusters. There’s many more famous faces for you to spot – but naming them all would take away the fun.
