Belfast’s Apartment bar has completed its £750,000 refurbishment and opened new bar Zak’s.

The well-established Donegall Square hotspot has undergone the revamp after being at the heart of the city centre for 15 years.

In addition to investing in a chic new roof terrace, in a welcome move it has also switched the bar and restaurant upstairs to facilitate walking straight into the public bar area without having to go through the restaurant.

Whilst on the ground level the new ‘Zak’s Bar’ has been opened.

Going from a coffee shop which previously opened as a bar on a Friday and Saturday only, Zak’s is now a live music bar that will open six nights a week.

The bar downstairs is both ‘male and female friendly’ – serving a great range of beers, wines and spirits with a menu of delicious modern tapas.

But it means you’ll have to go upstairs if you’re after a cocktail!

Zak’s Bar has gone from a coffee shop, which opened as a bar previously on a Friday and Saturday only, to a live music bar that will open six nights a week.

It opened with a soft launch on Saturday night.

In further good news, due to the revamp jobs are set to increase from 45 to around 60 to meet the increase in demand.
