The Barking Dog doesn’t just deliver the best burger in Belfast, its dessert menu is also a chocoholic’s paradise.
Whilst the menu offers the likes of the famous Espresso Crème Brulee with Hazelnut Shortbread and the epic Chocolate Brownie Sundae, we’re also particularly impressed by the mouth-watering specials which vary from daily to weekly depending on demand.
Two of our recent favourites include the Whiskey & Chocolate Pave, Roasted Hazelnuts and Amaretto Cherries with Raspberry Sorbet. In addition to the show-stopping Amaretto Cheesecake complete with Chocolate Sorbet and Hazelnut Praline. The Barking Dog encompasses every dessert lover’s dream…

You have to see this menu for yourself to appreciate how seriously appetising it truly is. It includes Sundae Bar options… Our heart is particularly set on the Salted Caramel Bananza.
For little over a fiver you can get your lips around Honeycomb & vanilla ice creams with banana slices, popcorn & lashings of fresh cream & salted caramel sauce.
7. La Bastille

It wouldn’t take Einstein to guess, but French restaurant La Bastille serves up a truly sensational Creme Brulee.
And it doesn’t end there, as these gorgeous pics will testify.
The Bastille Frozen Snickers is an iced caramel parfait with toffee ganache, cinnamon biscuit, toasted peanuts and chocolate – which we highly recommend. Check out the menu here for the full list of mouth-watering options.

Another European-inspired option, this Italian restaurant boasts Specials you simply won’t get elsewhere. We’re particular fans of the authentic Italian desserts, such as the Torta della Nonna (pictured left) – which is a soft shortcrust pastry filled with an Italian custard. The Chocolate Panettone served with Vanilla Sauce (right) is also a particular highlight.
We highly recommend both the Cannolis and homemade lemon tart (centre, in addition to the amazing Orange and almond cake served warm with ice cream. It’s too hard to choose between the two – so you might have to get both.
