If you’re not drinking (for whatever reason), but still want an enjoyable drink you can sit down with and relax, why not make yourself a Mocktail?

Easy to make, cost effective, and with all that fruit, what’s to stop you? Hey, you’re already not drinking, you may as well indulge!

Whether you’re going Sober for October, driving, pregnant, or just generally taking a break from the sauce (sometimes it’s well and truly needed) check out our top 5 favourite easy peasy Mocktails…

1. Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri

Ready in 2 mins


You will need:

3 1/2 ounces of frozen strawberries; 1/8 of a cup of ice; 1/2 fluid ounce sweet and sour mix; 1 dash of grenadine syrup.

What to do:

Place strawberries, ice cubes, sweet and sour mix and grenadine in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add more ice or less depending on your taste. Simples!

2. Fireside Flamer

Ready in 5 mins


You will need: 

3 parts (tbsp) lime cordial; 15 parts (tbsp) fresh orange juice (2 oranges or 225ml juice); 1 part (tbsp) grenadine syrup. (Indoor sparkler, optional!)

What to do:

Pour the lime cordial and orange juice into a tall glass, mix together and spoon in the grenadine. Add a sparkler, if you like, and set it alight before serving. Take care!

3. Orangatang Cocktail

Ready in 5 mins


You will need:

1 cup orange juice; 1 cup cranberry juice

What to do: 

Blend the orange and cranberry juices; then just pour into a chilled glass. (For a fizzy alternative, swap half-a-cup of the fresh orange juice for half-a-cup of fizzy orange juice – slurp!)

4. Virgin Strawberry Pina Colada

Ready in 6 minutes


You will need:

8 strawberries; 2oz coconut cream; 5oz pineapple juice; 1 cup crushed ice

What to do:

Blend all the ingredients in a blender at high speed; before pouring into a tall glass. Decorate with maraschino cherry and a pineapple slice.

5. Chocolate Cocktail

Prep time 5 minutes (needs an hour to chill)


What you will need:

150g milk chocolate bar; 210ml (just over 7fl oz) milk; 75ml (2 1/4fl oz) vanilla syrup; 3 squares of milk chocolate; ice; 3 martini glasses

What to do:

Place the milk in a non-stick saucepan and heat on a gentle simmer. Break half of the chocolate bar into squares and add into the milk. Stir the milk and chocolate gently and continuously to create a liquid chocolate mixture. Allow to cool for one hr at room temperature and then store in fridge.

Pour the cool milk mixture into a cocktail shaker and add the vanilla syrup. Shake over ice for 1 min and double-strain into martini glass.
Make an insertion in the back of the chocolate squares and place one at an angle on the edge of each martini glass.

We particularly love this one, as it combines our two favourite things (chocolate and alcohol) no we’re not off the drink – you can turn this into an adult cocktail as well with just a measure of coffee liqueur or dark rum. Yum.
