The luxurious Merchant Hotel has launched a new Afternoon Tea experience.

Launched ahead of Rose Week, guests can look forward to enjoying the elegant experience of scones, delicate finger sandwiches and floral-inspired cakes and pastries including a raspberry and rose chocolate sphere and a praline and earl grey blue flower macaroon, over the summer months at the five-star hotel.

Having become hooked on the Merchant’s Spa thanks to our recent visit, we cannot recommend it enough.

Our package included an hour session in the Thermal and Hydrotherapy area – which provided extensive ‘hands-off’ therapies to cleanse, rejuvenate and relax the body and mind, including thermal loungers, a sauna, steam room, hydro pool, drench showers and an ice fountain.

We also received an amazing massage before a therapeutic chill in the relaxation room complete with fruit salad, before we enjoyed an exquisite afternoon tea – all in the fluffy waffle Merchant robes!
