Anyway, help is at hand for those who suffer from food cravings.
Personal trainer Geoff Gates brings you 10 tips to beat those urges to sell your soul for a slice of cake…
1. Drink a litre of water
Your body does not know the difference between thirst and hunger. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
2. Change your mindset
If you’re going out to a restaurant tell yourself before you go if you see chips order a side salad. Keep reinforcing this thought.
3. Eat some nuts
25g of almonds are perfect.
Blood will be taken from your digestive system to working muscles – 20 body weight squats, 10 press-ups, 20 crunches is a great start.
Try meditating for 10 minutes or take a power nap, you probably comfort eat and associate bad food with when your bored or stressed out… so chill!
6. Keep your mouth active
Chew some gum or brush your teeth.
7. Freeze some grapes
They are just like boiled sweets and will satisfy any sweet tooth.
8. Focus on your end goal
Junk food is never is good as the feeling of being in your best shape, enough said!
9. Be aware of the benefits
You’ll feel more energised, less stressed and happier when you eat good food, remember this when you go for the cake
The key to success is perseverance, keep a food diary to remind you how well you’re doing.
